PG&E's Smartmeter

I thought it was great- it's very interesting to me how many people (in general, not so much in Softec) are so vehemently against these things. They'll fry your kids' brains, you know. :) I was really impressed by the great questions coming from our group.

The bigger issue for me is down the road, when this infrastructure is in place, and they have the ability to charge outrageous rates for using your air conditioner when it's actually hot. That's coming! But as far as the metering technology itself- come on- we must do better than manually reading spinning dials as we have been for the past 100 years. This is a good step forward with decent benefits for the consumers as well as the utilities.

I really enjoyed the presentation! I appreciated all the information that was provided and was impressed to hear that California's energy usage is not increasing as it is in other states. I look forward to the new Smart Appliances, mama needs a new dishwasher!

I've been curious about these! I'm excited to learn more about them.
