This spring, Couto Solutions expanded its office space and moved into the new Cal Poly Technology Park located on the beautiful Cal Poly campus. Our new 3600 square foot office is a real gem and we’re looking forward to opening our doors to the Softec business community for a tour.
This is Couto Solutions’ second move since its creation in 2004 in a tiny office built in the garage of our CEO’s, Justin Couto, home. At that time, Justin developed custom software that managed product inventory, warehouse and shipping logistics, product sales forecasting, on and offline sales tracking, analytics on the effectiveness of marketing and much more. He had also partnered with Billy Souza, our CTO, to leverage his expertise in network infrastructure design and management. With a growing business on his hands, Justin started adding to his workforce hiring two software engineers and a graphics artist to keep up with the work as well as his wife, Rosa Couto, to help manage the day to day business activities.
As our team grew, Justin knew he had to find a way to focus our efforts on a specific need of large companies that could afford the level and quality of services we have a reputation for providing. It was obvious to him, that selling “We Can Build Anything” wouldn’t work from a marketing or business development perspective. Right about that time, Couto Solutions began seeing a major push for community driven elements in the websites they were delivering.
The growing popularity of social networks such as MySpace and the emergence of new sites like Facebook, and LinkedIn were driving a new need that we quickly realized we could focus on. By 2007, as the social phenomenon started to take hold, Couto Solutions new focused community software development services went into overdrive. By this time, we had already outgrown our cozy office and moved into a modest 1000 square foot place in the Creekside Business Park. The company was now more focused than ever, delivering solutions driving ½ million plus member communities. With this new experience in hand, the team at Couto Solutions was well aware of the challenges behind developing these rich social web applications and sought an easier, more consistent way of doing so. The search began for a platform of common functionality that could be extended, manipulated, and tailored to the needs of any client and what they found was Telligent Community.
Today Couto Solutions is a certified Telligent Community Premier Partner with a list of products that kick up social communities for the enterprise by helping members connect with one another, encouraging participation through social rewards, and making site navigation as clean and simple as it should be. And, that’s not even half of it! Visit us as we host Softec’s May Open House event at our cutting edge new facility and learn more about us, how we run a successful business with clients all over the world, and the direction we are headed. Couto Solutions is an amazing next generation type of business that you might find to be very interesting. We hope to see you there!
