SLO High School VEX Robotics Gateway tournament a HIT!

The second annual California Central Coast VEX Gateway Championship, organized by the San Luis Obispo High School robotics team, took place Saturday February 11, 2012. This year it was hosted by Cal Poly Society of Women Engineers, at the Advanced Technology Lab and Bonderson Projects Center on the Cal Poly campus.

Competing were 26 robots and some 200 participants  from throughout the State of California. See videos 1, 2, and more information and list of entries.

The WINNING alliance included one robot from San Luis Obispo High School and two from El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills. The event was an official qualifying round of the international VEX competition, so these three winning robots will go on directly to the VEX Nationals  competition in Nebraska.

Softec's Robotics Support Program supports San Luis Obispo HS and other teams throughout the Central Coast, through cash donations (some $18,000 to date!) and its annual Robotics Showcase event. SAVE THE DATE, for the 2012 Showcase event--May 23-in an exciting NEW format!
