Softec Impact Award

The Softec Impact Award

Softec’s Quest for the Best in Technology

The Softec IMPACT Award honors the best of the best in technology on the Central Coast.  Softec’s Board of Directors instituted the program in 2005 to recognize outstanding achievement by organizations or individuals in the technology sector.  IMPACT is an acronym for Innovation, Management, Public Service, Advocacy, Community, and Technology, and candidates must have had a substantial impact in one or more of these categories to be considered for the award.

"We know that there are dozens of great technology success stories on the Central Coast and Softec intends to showcase those businesses and individuals. Technology is one of the industries that make our quality of life possible and we think it’s time to say thanks to those that make it happen here." - Former Chairman and President of Softec Henry Hernandez

This well deserved recognition is not awarded annually.  Instead, the Softec IMPACT Award is reserved for the occasion when the Softec Board notices the significant influence an individual or organization has had on the tech industry.

Winners of the IMPACT Award Include:

  • Tim Williams, Digital West Networks, Inc - 2008
  • Eric Schwefler, Caliber Accounting & Tax - 2008
  • Mark Wright, Chairman, Ground Control - 2005
  • The Honorable Andrea Seastrand, Executive Director, California Space Authority - 2005

Nominations for excellence in Innovation, Management, Public Service, Advocacy, Community, or Technology are encouraged. The Board of Directors will review the applications and will determine the recipients of this recognition. Current board members of Softec are not eligible for this award.
