I really enjoyed the last Ignite event in December (or was it November?). When is the next one happening? Do we have to wait a whole year?

Excellent.
I didn't sign-up to do a talk last time because I wasn't sure what others were going to talk about. I didn't want to go up and talk about sea turtles and then have everyone else talk about business technology in SLO.
Now that I know that 'you can talk about anything' really means you can talk about anything I'll come up with something special.
I can't wait to see what you bring to the table!
As a side note, the 'you can talk about anything' and 'you have five minutes' format was really intriguing and kept things engaging. I'm looking forward to this year's talks.
I really liked last year's talk on collecting rain water. It inspired me to install gutters at my house and hook them to 64 gallons worth of Rubbermaid garbage bins. They ended up overflowing in about 4 hours of light rain. I can empathize with the speaker when she finished up by talking about how she was drawing up plans to bury an enormous tank in her back yard.
Woohoo! Another rain collector! Did anybody hear that the City of Santa Maria is actually selling 55 gallons drums for people to hook up to their gutters in an effort to collect rain? It is such a simple and easy thing to do. If 50,000 homes hooked up two 60 gallon rain collectors (one on each side of the house) then 6,000,000 gallons of water would be collected. Lopez Lake provides 6,000,000 gallons per day to users. A couple of trash cans, barrels, or drums could make a difference.
I still haven't installed an enormous tank like I want, but I always covet the tanks in Paso Robles that you can see from the freeway. Someday....
Ignite announcements will come out next month.

When does the Ignite announcement come out?
I saw that Santa Maria was selling rain water collection bins. They were $55 each which is better than the $99 at Home Depot but, in my mind, not as good as $15 RubberMaid trash cans.
I am now using my collected rain water to water my three flower beds.
