Last year we added an Ignite format to our arsenal of meeting formats and it was a big success.  I've always been a fan of the NPR's Intelligence Squared debates.  Here are some more details about the format.  What do people think of using that format for a softec meeting about a tech topic?

You can listen to a tech related topic here:

If you do like the concept what topics would you want debated?

I Think this would be really cool.  I am all for mixing up the format and I would also love to hear what other members think.

I think the concept is intriguing, to say the least.

Some potential topics:
- Will my data be protected in the cloud? (premise being that cloud computing has inherent risks for professional service providers storing client data)
- Smartphones... Is BlackBerry really the best cellular production tool? (premise being that BlackBerry is the preferred "smart"phone choice of business professionals due to their phones' various productivity tools & enhancements)

I'm sure there are many others, but I would love to see those debates... and I'd love to see which side Roberto would sit on in the Smartphone debate... seeing as how he carries a BalckBerry AND an iPhone!  hahaha

Steve Evans and I could go at it publicly for a third time. ;)

Steve,

We should write a white paper on cloud security.  Since we would have two Steve's that feel almost completely opposite we could call it "balanced".  Plus we could save ink by having the authors be Steve Evans/Arriola.
