We've set up QB integration for several clients through QB's API - although not specifically with Zencart. Essentially, the way it works is we have a script that creates an XML file containing all the customer/product/order information on a regular basis. We then have a desktop App that connects to your instance of QB on your computer. It downloads the information and creates sales receipts, updating customer and product information in the process.

We just bought some addons from magneticone.com for our CRE Loaded site... pretty much the same thing as zencart. both are oscommerce forks.
They make a quickbooks addon though I can't vouch for this particular addon
