Huge Success

Tonight we had our very first Central Coast Design Group meeting.  It was a great success and looks to be the start of a long and fruitful schedule of monthly meetings where local designers can share information and learn from each other.  Tonight's meeting was all about SEO and how designers can use some straight forward strategy to ensure they build web sites structured to place well in the search engines.

We started our meeting with some networking where Jeff Richardson showed off his TOP SECRET Windows 8 tablet PC.  It was great to have an opportunity see the direction of the new Windows OS in action.  The design and UI of the new OS is quite beautifully riddled with the principals that we plan to explore in upcoming meetings.

Once the meeting started we talked about the goals of the group, the group format, and the upcoming topics we already have planned.  We also announced that we are looking for a dinner sponsor to cover the cost of pizza and drinks for the meetings.  Until a sponsor is found Couto Solutions will be sponsoring dinner at each of the events.

After going around the room for introductions, tonight's feature presentation was given by yours truly.  I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge on SEO with the group.  My talk was very interactive with lots of group members asking questions and offering their knowledge on the subject.  This was great as we were really hoping for an interactive informal atmosphere.

Once the presentation concluded everyone stuck around for some post presentation discussion.  It was great and I am already looking forward to next month.
