Declarative Bindings
Easily associate DOM elements with model data using a concise, readable syntax

Automatic UI Refresh
When your data model's state changes, your UI updates automatically

Dependency Tracking
Implicitly set up chains of relationships between model data, to transform and combine it

Templating
Quickly generate sophisticated, nested UIs as a function of your model data

Knockout's powerful features that enable you to write clean JavaScript using the MVVM pattern. If you are tired of writing spaghetti JS code and you are looking for a new approach, you should not miss this event.

Register for the event here:
http://www.softec.org/groups/slo_net_user_group/Events/Event/135.aspx

Now Hiring a Junior .NET Software Developer

Couto Solutions is now hiring a Junior .NET Software Developer in San Luis Obispo! Come live and work in the happiest place in America! Each meeting begins with casual networking, free pizza eating, and problem sharing. Then, a local developer or traveling speaker will give a talk on the latest .NET development technology. That is followed up by some of the best development focused discussions I have ever seen.

Learn More About HTML5 with Scott Stanfield

Scott Stanfield, CEO of Vertigo Software, Inc., will be speaking at the SLO .NET User Group meeting Tuesday, June 14, at 5:30 pm in the first floor conference room of the Cal Poly Tech Park, Building 83. Vertigo Software, Inc., is a digital design and development shop.
Blake Davis from MINDBODY Inc will be educating us one the phenomenon that is the jQuery library:

Why aren't you using jQuery yet?

In this session, we'll work with the popular javascript library jQuery to create useful and interesting behaviors on a website. You will quickly see, that jQuery helps the web developer do three very important things:

1. Improve the consistency of behavior across all browsers.
2. Add flair to your website (animation, ajax) with very little effort.
3. Simplify common dom manipulation tasks, allowing you to do more with less code.

We'll do advanced dom manipulation, play with some ajax on top of an MVC application, and see some very useful and easy to use plugins created by the internet community.

If you are doing any sort of client side coding in javascript, and have not taken a look at jQuery yet, this session will show you what you have been missing.
